About Me

contact me
I am a native of the Chequamegon Bay Area of northern Wisconsin.  I was born and raised on a dairy farm in Ashland County.  Our farm was homesteaded by my great-grandparents who immigrated from Bavaria (Germany).  Our farm was a Century Family Farm in 1985.

EDUCATION

I am a graduate of Ashland High School.  I attended Northland College for 2 years, and then transferred to the University of Wisconsin in Madison, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Mathematics.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

I have been a fully licensed Insurance agent in Wisconsin since 1981. I operated a multiple-lines agency for a major insurance carrier, retiring from that agency after 32 years.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

In addition to my insurance career, I have been involved in the radio broadcasting industry for all of my adult life.  I have broadcast high school sports in the Ashland area for over 40 years.  In June of 2019, I was inducted into the Ashland High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

I have been a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1975 and the Ashland Rotary Club since 1985.

I am also a member of the Board of Directors of the Chequamegon Theatre Association, the longest continuously-operating non-profit community theatre  in the State of Wisconsin.  I have performed in approximately 15 CTA productions.

I am an ordained Permanent Deacon serving the 5 parishes of the Ashland Catholic Cluster.
